Meet the Artist

Stephanie van der Beek (1980) is a contemporary artist whose journey spans more than twenty years of creating, exploring and building a distinct artistic voice.

Born in Hamburg, shaped by a life of travel, and deeply influenced by the years she lived on the Côte d’Azur, her artistic path has never followed a straight line. It has grown through experience, curiosity, education, bold choices and a continuous devotion to creating.

For more than twenty years, Stephanie has been developing her artistic voice. She has studied, experimented, exhibited, sold her work, built collaborations with galleries and interior designers, and welcomed private collectors into her studio near Leiden. What once began as a deep need to express what words could not hold, has evolved into a full-time professional art practice.

Her work tells a story of positivity, strength and personal growth. Through liquid alcohol ink and carefully directed air diffusion, Stephanie creates flowing, one-of-a-kind artworks that feel alive — shaped by movement, emotion and the courage to keep following her own path.

Stephanie’s art has been exhibited throughout Europe and is represented by Sille Gallery, Rembrandt Gallery and Galerie de Ruimte. Her work lives in homes, galleries, hotels, restaurants, and design spaces — wherever people seek something with presence, power, and soul.

Meet the Artist

Stephanie van der Beek (1980) is a contemporary artist whose work is defined by movement, intuition, and emotional presence. Originally from Hamburg, her artistic journey began over twenty years ago on the shores of the Côte d’Azur, where she first felt the desire to express what words could not capture. Today, she works full-time as an independent artist in the Netherlands, creating powerful, flowing, one-of-a-kind artworks from her studio near Leiden.

Stephanie’s art tells a unique story rooted in positivity and strength, reflecting her personal journey. Beyond self-expression, her work aims to inspire viewers to chart their path filled with gratitude, positive vibes and a strong minset. Her chosen technique, using air diffusion with the liquid medium of alcohol ink, offers the ideal surface for conveying her message.

Stephanie’s art has been exhibited throughout Europe and is represented by Horus Gallery (NL/BE), Sille Gallery (NL), and Galleri Melefors (SE). Her work lives in homes, galleries, hotels, restaurants, and design spaces — wherever people seek something with presence, power, and soul.

A Technique Like No Other - Painting with Air and Instinct

Stephanie paints without brushes or canvas. Her practice begins with liquid ink, pure alcohol and carefully directed airflow. Instead of controlling every movement by hand, she allows the materials to move, collide, resist and open up across the surface. Through air diffusion, she guides this fluid process until a composition appears that feels both powerful and alive.

Her technique has developed over many years into a distinctive signature style for exclusive, high-end artworks. Each piece is created layer by layer, shaped by intuition, emotion and timing. The process is never fully predictable. It is a dialogue between artist, material and moment — where control and surrender constantly meet.

Many of her works contain gold accents, used not simply as decoration but as a way to capture and reflect light. As the viewer moves, the gold shifts from a subtle shimmer to a radiant glow, creating an almost optical sense of depth and movement.

The artworks are finished with multiple coats of high-quality gloss, resulting in a smooth, luminous surface that enhances colour, depth and elegance. Her compositions are often round, oval or built from multiple organic parts, echoing natural forms and moving away from the expected rectangle.

Art as Soulwork – Stories in Color and Flow

Every artwork Stephanie creates begins with a feeling – something unspoken, intuitive, and real. Her pieces are shaped by emotion, movement, and the energy of transformation.

What drives her is not just the need to create something beautiful – but to express something meaningful. Her inspiration comes from people who carry resilience, vulnerability, sensitivity, and courage. These qualities are translated into line, form, rhythm, and tone.

Her art is storytelling without words — visual tributes to the inner world. They are not just paintings to look at, but pieces to feel. Each one offers a quiet invitation:
To pause.
To reconnect.
To remember something you may have forgotten about yourself.

For Collectors, Designers and the Curious

Stephanie works closely with private collectors, interior designers and creative partners to bring art into spaces where it truly belongs. Many of her artworks are available immediately, while others are created on commission – tailored to the energy, rhythm, and palette that resonates with a space or story.

Her work can be viewed by appointment in her studio (region Leiden), at design events, or through the galleries that represent her.

Every piece is finished to the highest standard, signed, mounted on Dibond or wood, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
