Stephanie van der Beek (1980) is a contemporary artist whose work is defined by movement, intuition, and emotional presence. Originally from Hamburg, her artistic journey began over twenty years ago on the shores of the Côte d’Azur, where she first felt the desire to express what words could not capture. Today, she works full-time as an independent artist in the Netherlands, creating powerful, flowing, one-of-a-kind artworks from her studio near Leiden.
Stephanie’s art tells a unique story rooted in positivity and strength, reflecting her personal journey. Beyond self-expression, her work aims to inspire viewers to chart their path filled with gratitude, positive vibes and a strong minset. Her chosen technique, using air diffusion with the liquid medium of alcohol ink, offers the ideal surface for conveying her message.
Stephanie’s art has been exhibited throughout Europe and is represented by Horus Gallery (NL/BE), Sille Gallery (NL), and Galleri Melefors (SE). Her work lives in homes, galleries, hotels, restaurants, and design spaces — wherever people seek something with presence, power, and soul.

Stephanie paints without brushes or canvas. Her tools are liquid ink, pure alcohol, and carefully directed airflow. Working with airdiffusion she guides ink across the surface in intuitive, fluid motions. The pigment flows, swirls, resists, and settles – until a composition emerges that feels alive.
Each artwork is built up layer by layer, shaped by instinct and emotion. The process is collaborative, in a way – between artist, medium, and moment.
Once the form has found its rhythm, the piece is sealed with multiple coats of high-gloss epoxy resin. The result is a smooth, luminous surface that captures light and magnifies depth. Many works include accents of gold – not as ornament, but as light itself. Depending on where you stand, the gold shimmers quietly or glows with full intensity. It’s this living interaction between artwork, space, and viewer that defines her signature style.
Her works are often round or oval, echoing natural forms – soft, organic, and free from rigid structure. This choice is intentional: a rejection of the box, the frame, the expected. Her compositions flow. They breathe. They hold space rather than filling it.
Every artwork Stephanie creates begins with a feeling – something unspoken, intuitive, and real. Her pieces are shaped by emotion, movement, and the energy of transformation.
What drives her is not just the need to create something beautiful – but to express something meaningful. Her inspiration comes from people who carry resilience, vulnerability, sensitivity, and courage. These qualities are translated into line, form, rhythm, and tone.
Her art is storytelling without words — visual tributes to the inner world. They are not just paintings to look at, but pieces to feel. Each one offers a quiet invitation:
To pause.
To reconnect.
To remember something you may have forgotten about yourself.
Stephanie works closely with private collectors, interior designers, hotels, and creative partners to bring art into spaces where it truly belongs. Many of her artworks are available immediately, while others are created on commission – tailored to the energy, rhythm, and palette that resonates with a space or story.
Her work can be viewed by appointment in her studio (region Leiden), at design events, or through the galleries that represent her.
Every piece is finished to the highest standard, signed, mounted on Dibond or wood, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Driven by pure passion and boundless energy, the art I create reflects that vitality. As an artist my aspiration is to create art that’s not only beautiful but also deeply meaningful. Through various experiences, I’ve come to understand that our minds possess incredible strength, and within us lies an unstoppable power and energy. I draw profound inspiration from individuals who discover an unconquerable inner strength, embracing life’s diverse circumstances as opportunities for growth. The technique I employ serves as the perfect medium to convey my message.
